Together, we CAN make a difference!

Over the past 6 years, together we have cleaned multiple beaches, rivers and streams, and collected thousands of pounds of waste and recycling in partnership with Costa Rica NGOs, Operation Rich Coast and Nicoya Peninsula Waterkeeper!

We’ve helped to ignite change and raise awareness, along with thousands of dollars to benefit Costa Rica’s wildlife and the environment, with the generous support and incredible talent of our dear friend, Glen Phillips of the multi-platinum band, Toad the Wet Sprocket.

We painted fences, built habitats, collected food & enrichment and volunteered countless hours to care for the animals at Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, and raised money to buy a much-needed X-ray machine, eliminating the need for unnecessary transport and saving more lives.

We built squirrel boxes for our furry friends at Wild Sun Rescue and donated money to support their Scarlet Macaw breeding program, allowing for the reintroduction of the native bird to the Nicoya Peninsula for the first time in over 50 years!

We donated new backpacks, books, school and art supplies, and played soccer with elementary school kids in Costa Rica.

We’ve hired the talented local women-run nonprofit, Provide & Conquer, to feed our guests, and by doing so we provide women in the community access to education, mentorship, training and funding to enable them to thrive economically and socially.

Neuroscience research has linked the 'warm glow’ of giving to activity in a region of the brain called the nucleus accumbens, where the neurotransmitter dopamine is released, resulting in feelings of heightened well-being — and the desire to repeat whatever caused it. We’ve had guests report they’ve never volunteered before and plan to keep it up! :)

Thank you and Pura Vida!

It’s been six years now since we set out to spend more time in the awe-inspiring, surreal and naturally healing environment of Costa Rica, which we now consider our home away from home. From the beginning, it’s been our priority to give back to the land, and to the communities that have been so welcoming and nurturing to us, and to ensure that our guests have the opportunity to do the same.

Let’s stay connected.
